Dnova Web Studios and its affiliates provide this Privacy Notice for California residents who interact with us in an employment, application, contractual, or professional capacity. This includes employees, job applicants, owners, directors, officers, contractors, and, where applicable, their emergency contacts and beneficiaries who are California residents.

This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be linked to an individual, referred to as Personal Information. This notice is provided in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, collectively referred to as California Privacy Law.

Additional privacy notices or disclosures may apply to specific interactions or services. Where Personal Information is subject to California Privacy Law, this Privacy Notice governs. Where other laws or notices apply, those notices will govern instead.

Collection and Disclosure of Personal Information

This section describes the categories of Personal Information we collect and process, as well as the categories of Personal Information we may disclose to affiliates and third parties for legitimate business and employment purposes. This includes information collected within the twelve months preceding the date this Privacy Notice was last updated.

 

Affiliates and third parties may include service providers supporting payroll, benefits administration, training, consulting, expense management, IT services, and medical benefits, as well as professional advisors such as accountants, auditors, banks, and legal counsel. Disclosure may also occur with public or governmental authorities and business partners required to support business operations.

Automated Collection of Information

When you access or use our website or systems, certain information may be collected automatically through technologies such as cookies, beacons, device identifiers, server logs, and similar tools.

The information collected through automated means may include:

  1. Identifiers such as name and government issued identification numbers
  2. Personal data defined under California law, including contact details, identification documents, financial information, employment records, and insurance information

Sensitive Personal Information

Sensitive Personal Information may include:

  1. Government identification numbers, account credentials, financial account details, precise geolocation data, and genetic information
  2. Biometric data used to uniquely identify an individual
  3. Health related information
  4. Information related to sexual orientation or sex life

This information is collected and processed only where permitted by law and for legitimate business, legal, or employment purposes.

Business Transfers

Personal Information may be disclosed to third parties in connection with a corporate transaction, including a reorganization, merger, acquisition, sale, financing, joint venture, assignment, or transfer of assets, including proceedings related to insolvency or bankruptcy.

Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

Dnova Web Studios does not sell Personal Information and does not share Personal Information for cross context behavioral advertising as defined under California Privacy Law. We have not engaged in such activities within the twelve months preceding the date this Privacy Notice was last updated.

Information Regarding Minors

We do not knowingly sell or share the Personal Information of individuals under sixteen years of age.

Purposes for the Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information

Dnova Web Studios may collect, use, and process Personal Information to operate, manage, and grow our business, support our workforce, and fulfill legitimate business objectives. These purposes include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing workforce activities such as recruitment, hiring, onboarding, staffing, performance evaluation, training, career development, promotions, compensation, and benefits administration.
  • Conducting assessments related to job performance, qualifications, and fitness for work where permitted by law.
  • Processing payroll, wages, bonuses, reimbursements, and administering healthcare, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Operating, maintaining, securing, and monitoring our facilities, systems, networks, applications, and technical infrastructure.
  • Managing attendance, timekeeping, paid time off, and leaves of absence.
  • Supporting internal communications, collaboration, and business-related travel.
  • Ensuring workplace safety, risk management, quality assurance, and security monitoring to protect our workforce and business operations.
  • Conducting internal research, analytics, and planning activities, including succession planning, business continuity, employee retention initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and environmental and social responsibility efforts.
  • Performing internal administrative functions such as identity verification, accounting, audits, investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
  • Managing information technology resources, allocating company assets, and supporting strategic planning and project execution.
  • Complying with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, and internal policies, including tax, employment, immigration, and recordkeeping obligations, as well as establishing or defending legal claims.

Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information

Dnova Web Studios may use Sensitive Personal Information only as necessary to perform business operations, deliver requested services, and protect the security and integrity of our organization. This includes establishing and managing employment relationships, administering payroll and benefits, ensuring workplace safety and inclusion, supporting compliance obligations, protecting company assets, and securing access to our facilities, systems, and networks. We do not use Sensitive Personal Information for purposes that are inconsistent with applicable privacy laws.

Retention of Personal Information

We retain Personal Information, including Sensitive Personal Information, only for as long as reasonably necessary or legally permitted based on the purposes for which it was collected. Factors used to determine retention periods include:

  • The duration of an individual’s employment or engagement with Dnova Web Studios.
  • The length of time we maintain an ongoing relationship with an individual or their dependents or beneficiaries, and any period thereafter during which the information may be required for legitimate business purposes.
  • Legal or regulatory obligations that require retention of certain records for specified periods.
  • Whether continued retention is appropriate to protect our legal interests, including in connection with audits, disputes, investigations, or applicable statutes of limitation.

Individual Rights and Requests

Subject to applicable law, individuals may exercise the following rights regarding their Personal Information:

  1. Request disclosure of the categories of Personal Information collected, the sources of that information, and the business purposes for collection during the twelve months preceding the request.
  2. Request information about the categories of Personal Information disclosed and the categories of third parties to whom the information was disclosed.
  3. Request correction of inaccurate Personal Information.
  4. Request deletion of certain Personal Information provided to us, where legally permitted.
  5. Request a copy of Personal Information in a portable and accessible format.

Dnova Web Studios does not discriminate or retaliate against individuals for exercising their privacy rights. Requests will be verified and handled in accordance with applicable law, taking into account the nature and sensitivity of the information involved. Additional information may be requested to confirm identity and prevent unauthorized access or fraudulent requests.

Authorized Agents

Where permitted by law, individuals may authorize an agent to submit a privacy request on their behalf. Dnova Web Studios may require proof of the agent’s authorization and may also require the individual to verify their identity or confirm the agent’s permission before processing the request.

Dnova Web Studios may update this Privacy Notice periodically to reflect changes in legal requirements or business practices. Any updates will be posted on this page along with a revised “Last Updated” date.
